Past and Upcoming Events at Maple Ridge Museum
Maple Ridge Museum returned to in-person programming this past March when we hosted families for
a four-day drop-in event that included tours and crafts. A few weeks later, over Easter weekend, we
again invited families to the museum for a craft and scavenger hunt. Our new community outreach
program, Museum on the Move, made its debut at Earth Day 2022 in Memorial Peace Park; we put
together a display on heritage fruit trees around Maple Ridge. We were present at the Ridge Meadows
Home Show in the Family Fun Zone and interacted with hundreds of locals over the weekend. On May
8th we hosted a Mother’s Day event at Haney House for fourteen families that included croquet,
museum tours, special artifact displays, and refreshments donated by T’s/Once Upon a Tea Leaf, and
Kizzy’s Macarons. Currently Maple Ridge Museum is participating in the Tourism Challenge, an annual
event that brings up to 80% of our annual walk-in visitors to the museum.
On June 11th we will be hosting Midsummer at the museum, a celebration of our exhibit, Sisu: Finnish
Resilience in Webster’s Corners. In the upcoming months, we are planning over a dozen appearances of
Museum on the Move around the city, including Canada Day, Rivers Day, four Farmer’s Markets, three
appearances at the City of Maple Ridge’s Happenings in the Park, and partnerships with the CEED Centre
Society, Alouette River Management Society, and Wild & Immersive. We are excited to connect with the
public in new and different ways and continue to grow our community outreach.
