COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT Councillor Judy Dueck Mark Adams Brian Clark Kirk Grayson Bill Hardy, Chair Jessie Lees, Vice Chair Janice Jarvis STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT Rodney Stott Amelia Bowden Mike McLean ABSENT Council Liaison Member at Large Environmental Professional Member at Large Member at Large Member at Large Environmental Professional Staff Liaison /Environmental Planner Planner 2 Committee Clerk Note: Councillor Judy Dueck chaired the meeting until a Chair was appointed for 2022. 1. CALL TO ORDER -7:02 pm 2. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA R/2022-EAC-001 It was moved and seconded That the February 9, 2022 Environmental Advisory Committee Regular Meeting agenda be approved as amended. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 3. ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES R/2022-EAC-002 It was moved and seconded That the minutes of the Environmental Advisory Committee Regular Meeting agenda dated November 17, 2021 be adopted as circulated. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Note: Brian Clark joined the meeting at 7:04 pm. 4. DELEGATIONS 4.1 Lougheed Transit Corridor Area Plan Environmental Advisory Committee Minutes February 9, 2022 Regular Meeting Page 2 of 4 Amelia Bowden, Planner 2, presented an overview of the Lougheed Transit Corridor Area Plan and explained the decision-making process. Topics included the metrics for evaluating the ratio of green space to development, architectural guidelines to include sequestration of carbon and the integration of area plans with larger development strategies. Note: A. Bowden left the meeting at 7:51 pm. 5. NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1. Welcome/Member Introductions Committee members introduced themselves and described their backgrounds. 5.2. Committee Orientation The Staff Liaison provided a background of the Environmental Advisory Committee and the Committee Clerk presented an overview of Committee proceedings. 5.3. Chair and Vice Chair Selection The Committee selected Bill Hardy as Chair and Jessie Lees as Vice Chair for 2022. R/2022-EAC-003 It was moved and seconded That Bill Hardy be appointed as Chair of the Environmental Advisory Committee for 2022. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY R/2022-EAC-004 It was moved and seconded That Jessie Lees be appointed as Vice Chair of the Environmental Advisory Committee for 2022. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Note: Councillor Dueck left the meeting at 8:11 pm. 5.4. 2022 Meeting Schedule The Committee approved the meeting schedule for 2022. R/2022-EAC-005 It was movea and seconded That the Committee approve the 2022 meeting schedule as amended to include an additional meeting in March. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 5.5. 2022 Work Plan Environmental Advisory Committee Minutes February 9, 2022 Regular Meeting Page 3 of 4 The Committee established the Green Infrastructure Network Mapping and Management Strategy Task Force and the Environmental Communications and Outreach Task Force to accomplish action items in the 2022 Work Plan. R/2022-EAC-006 It was moved and seconded That the Committee establish the Green Infrastructure Network Mapping and Management Strategy Task Force to develop a scoping report on the strategy and present the results at a regular meeting in 2022. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY R/2022-EAC-007 It was moved and seconded That the Committee appoint Janice Jarvis, Jessie Lees and Mark Adams to the Green Infrastructure Network Mapping and Management Strategy Task Force for 2022. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY R/2022-EAC-008 It was moved and seconded That the Committee establish the Environmental Communications and Outreach Task Force to provide opportunities for education and public engagement through a presentation series with various experts speaking about environmental-related topics, updates to municipal environmental website materials, community walking tours, use of innovative technologies and social media to share awareness and celebrate successes with update reports during regular meetings. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY R/2022-EAC-009 It was moved and seconded That the Committee appoint Kirk Grayson and Brian Clark to the Environmental Communications and Outreach Task Force for 2022. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 6. LIAISON UPDATES 6.1. Staff Liaison The Staff Liaison provided an update on the following: • Aquifer mapping to be considered by Council • 2022 work schedule for the Committee 6.2. Council Liaison -NIL 7. SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATE 7.1 Green Infrastructure Subcommittee -NIL 8. QUESTION PERIOD-NIL 9. ROUNDTABLE Envimnmental Advisory Committee Minutes February 9, 2022 Regular Meeting Page 4 of 4 Members provided updates and reports on related environmental activities. 10.
