The Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee (PRCC)
held via Zoom teleconference on June 2, 2021 at 4:00 pm.

2.1 2021-2022 PRCC Work Plan
The Staff Liaisons outlined the purpose of the PRCC Work Plan is to develop a framework that
aligns with the Committee’s Terms of Reference and the City’s strategic priorities to accomplish
common goals: Community Safety; Intergovernmental Relations; Growth; Community Pride &
Spirit; Natural Environment.
The Chair opened the floor for discussion and feedback on the creation of the draft 2021-2022
PRCC Work Plan. Members raised overall interest on the following initiatives:
Support the development of PRC’s Master Plan (Growth);
Develop methods to increase sponsorship opportunities to support enhancing
programs, services and infrastructure (Growth);
Support truth and reconciliation by collaborating and connecting with our indigenous
communities (Inter-Gov Relations);
Seek opportunities to bring neighbourhoods together through programs, engagement
and purpose (Community Pride & Spirit).
The Chair and Staff Liaisons thanked all members for their valuable input and will circulate the
draft Plan via email prior to the next meeting for comments. Further discussion will take place at
the September 29, 2021 PRCC meeting.
