He explained that the operator has a non-exclusive license to occupy agreement with
the District of Maple Ridge, and that the operator has expressed concerns about the

Mr. McLeod shared pictu res from the site where the Pumpkin Cross event took place
in 2011 and requested direction from the Commission on how to proceed with the
two parties in order to keep the event in our area and to resolve concerns ra ised by
the site operator regarding resulting repairs and recovery time
David Boag, Director of Pa rks and Facilities added that the District receives $10,000
per year in rent from the Equestrian center for the use of the site. The operator is
obliged in this agreement to maintain this site at his sole expense in each year of the

places additional burden on the operator to repair the damage and, where this
activity clearly causes a blemish on an otherwise very well maintained site for several
months during the fall/winter season, it may also result in compaction in the areas
where the cycle cross circuit runs back and forth through the equestrian course.
It was moved and seconded
That staff be directed to meet with the operator of the Maple Ridge Equi-Sport Centre
and the event organizers for the 2012 Pumpkin Cross, to determine if concerns with
