Call to Order and Introductions The meeting was called to order 7:10 p.m. ~ 2. Agenda Approval This item was deferred to the December meeting. Minutes of September 9, 2009 Meeting This item was deferred to the December meeting. 4. Delegations & Presentations 4.1 Alouette Home Start Society-Supportive Housing Project Update: Sheila McLaughlin Sheila McLaughlin gave a very brief review of the Supportive Housing Project proposed for 222°7 Browne Street in Maple Ridge. Ms. McLaughlin will be invited back to the December meeting to do her full presentation . Sue Wheeler reviewed the Homelessness Action Week Event Report that was prepared by Dave Speers. Unfinished Business 5.1 Homelessness Action Week 2009 -October 16th Local Chili Harvest Event, Final Report This Item was deferred to the December meeting. 5.2 Federal Bill C-304 -Act to Secure Adequate, Accessible, Affordable Housing for all Canadians This Item was deferred to the December meeting. 5.3 2010 Proposed Business Plan This Item was deferred to the December meeting. 5.3.1 Environmental Scan Sue Wheeler reviewed the updated Environmental Scan with the Committee. After discussion rega rding SPAC membership, it was suggested that SPAC consider forwarding a recommendation to Council to consider inviting Pitt Meadows to be a part of this Committee. ACTION ITEM: Committee Clerk to add this to the next agenda. The Committee discussed how the multiple current funding cuts have affected service providers and organizations and it was noted that most services interwoven between the two communities and the true effects of the cuts won't be felt until Apri l 2010. NEW BUSINESS 8. ROUNDTABLE Betty Levens Betty noted that the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society (RMSS) held their 10th Anniversary party which was a great success. Ms. Levens also noted that the Orpheus Male Choir will be playing at the Maple Ridge Christian Reform Church on Wednesday, November 11th at 7:30 p.m. Mike Huber Mike talked about the 10 year anniversary of Greg Moore's passing noting that the Greg Moore Youth Centre got a huge plug on the American blog's including noting that Greg Moore's legacy touched many youth's since his passing. Mike also shared how impressed he was with the Romeo Dallaire presentation and asked that his thanks to the youth services staff Jen Baillie and Brian Patel for organizing the event be passed on. 9.
