PUBLIC WORKS AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Note: The following items have been numbered to correspond with the Council Agenda: Committee of the Whole Minutes February 2, 2009 Page 2 of 4 1101 RZ/083/06, 28461 Dewdney Trunk Road, First Extension Staff report dated January 21, 2009 recommending that a one year extension be granting for rezoning application RZ/083/06 to permit a 7 lot subdivision under the A-1 (Small Holding Agricultural) zone. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. Councillor Speirs -OPPOSED 1102 Northumberland Court Bylaw Enforcement Staff report dated February 2, 2008 recommending that District of Maple Ridge staff proceed to perform all necessary inspections and obtain all necessary evidence and information for Council to consider enforcing bylaws and exercising its powers against the Owners of Northumberland Court. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. 3. FINANCIAL AND CORPORATE SERVICES (including Fire and Police) 1131 2009 Property Assessment Review Staff report dated January 18, 2009 providing 2009 assessment information as received from BC Assessment. The Manager of Revenue Collections provided a PowerPoint presentation which outlined the 2009 Preliminary Assessment Review and reviewed the standard process followed in tax assessment to achieve municipal tax rates. The General Manager, Corporate and Financial Services provided information on the tax exemption granted to the Golden Ears Bridge properties by the Provincial Government. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. Committee of the Whole Minutes February 2, 2009 Page 3 of 4 4. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND RECREATION SERVICES 1151 Whonnock Lake Lease Agreement "In Principle" Staff report dated January 20, 2009 recommending that the Ridge Canoe and Kayak (RCKC) be given approval in principle for the lease of the land at Whonnock Lake. The Director of Parks and Facilities reviewed the report. Farron Fedechko -Ridge Canoe and Kayak Club Mr. Fedechko provided details of the club's undertaking to develop a Whonnock Lake Paddling and Recreation centre and stated that the support of District of Maple Ridge in the venture will contribute to future fundraising and planning opportunities. Mr. Fedechko was invited to give a presentation detailing the Ridge Canoe and Kayak Club's proposal at the February 10, 2009 Council meeting. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. 1152 Ridge Meadows Seniors Society Lease and Fee for Service Agreement Staff report dated January 28, 2009 recommending that the Corporate Officer be authorized to execute the attached Ridge Meadows Seniors Society Lease and Fee for Service Agreement. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. Committee of the Whole Minutes February 2, 2009 Page 4 of 4 1153 Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Arts Council Fee for Service Agreement, Art Gallery Agreement and Facility Lease Staff report dated January 28, 2009 recommending that the Corporate Officer be authorized to execute the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Community Arts Council Lease Agreement for 2009 to 2011. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 10, 2009. 5. CORRESPONDENCE -Nil 6. OTHER ISSUES -Nil 7. ADJOURNMENT -1:28 p.m. 8. COMMUNITY FORUM Suzanna Bosco Ms. Bosco expressed concern over the extension of Abernethy Way and the impact of the planned roadway expansion on the residential and farming areas. She asked that Council reassess the plan for the extension. The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services advised on the current status of the Abernethy Way extension proposal and of upcoming public information sessions. LA.-V::::::: ~ L.
