Staff report dated February 2, 2009 recommending that Maple Ridge Official
Community Plan Amending Bylaw No. 6638-2008 and Maple Ridge Zone
Amending Bylaw No. 6639-2008 to permit mobile equipment storage and
improve existing circulation for the existing equipment rental business be
given first reading and be forwarded to Public Hearing.

Staff report dated February 2, 2009 recommending that Maple Ridge Zone
Amending Bylaw No. 6489-2007 to permit a subdivision of 8 single family lots
be given first reading and be forwarded to Public Hearing.
The Planner gave a Power Point presentation providing the following
information:

• Site Characteristics

• Land Exchange Plan
The General Manager of Community Development, Parks and Recreation
Services advised that the neighbourhood will be engaged in discussions
pertaining to the proposed area park.
RECOMMENDATION

Staff report dated February 9, 2009 recommending that Maple Ridge Zone
Amending Bylaw No. 6646-2009 to permit the expansion of an existing ranch
(agri-tourism facility) be given first reading and be forwarded to Public
Hearing.

RECOMMENDATION

1104 DVP/007 /08, Legal Subdivision of the South East Quarter Section 25,
Township 12, NWD; 26015 128 Avenue and Legal Subdivision 8, Section 25,
Township 12, NWD
Staff report dated February 2, 2009 recommending that the Corporate Officer
be authorized to sign and seal DVP/007 /08 to exempt the applicant from
developing a road right-of-way east of a proposed 51 industrial lot subdivision.
The applicant advised that the equestrian trail located on the property will be
maintained.
The Director of Planning clarified that the right-of-way is not for vehicles but is
and will be used as an equestrian trail.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 24,
2009.

1105 SP/089/08, Soil Deposit Permit, 13780 224 Street
Staff report dated February 6, 2009 recommending that the application for a
fill permit for the property at 13780 224 Street be forwarded to the
Agricultural Land Commission and that the Agricultural Land Commission
consult with the Alouette Valley Farm and Homeowners Association.
The Director of Planning advised that the District is obligated to submit
applications for soil deposit permits on land in the Agricultural Land Reserve
to the Agricultural Land Commission.
The Environmental Planner advised that the District has to forward
applications to the Agricultural Land Commission within 60 days of the date
received. He noted that professionals hired by property owners are required
to consider surrounding sites.
The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services advised that
even if the Agricultural Land Commission approved an application for soil
deposit, the District will require property owners to address impacts on
neighbouring properties before approving an application.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 24,
2009.
1106 SP/092/08, Soil Deposit Permit, 25292 130 Avenue
Staff report dated February 6, 2009 recommending that the application for a
fill permit for the property located at 25292 130 Avenue be forwarded to the
Agricultural Land Commission.
The Environmental Planner advised that professionals retained by property
owners to investigate impacts of soil deposits are required to provide District
staff with detailed assessments.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 24,
2009.

1131 Inspection of Municipal Works
Staff report dated February 9, 2009 providing recommendations for
inspection of municipal works as requested by the Municipal Insurance
Association.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of February 24,
2009.

8. COMMUNITY FORUM
Graham Mowatt
Mr. Mowatt provided on update on the status of the Albion Ferry. He asked
that Council provide a letter to the Provincial Government indicating support
of the continuation of operation of the ferry.
Councillor Hogarth advised that at Council Workshop, Council unanimously
supported writing a letter in support of the ferry service to the Provincial
Government.
