DELEGATIONS/STAFF PRESENTATIONS 1.1 Maple Ridge Recycling Society Update -Kim Day, Executive Director Ms. Day gave a PowerPoint presentation which highlighted upcoming changes in the Maple Ridge Recycling Society's blue box pick up days scheduled to begin on June 1, 2009. She provided a history of the blue box pickup schedule and gave an overview and an explanation of the need to alter pickup schedules in the community. 2. PUBLIC WORKS AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Note: The following items have been numbered to correspond with the Council Agenda: 1101 Excess Capacity/Extended Services Agreement LC 133/09, 232 Street and Gilbert Drive Staff report dated February 11, 2009 recommending that Latecomer Charges be imposed and that the Corporate Officer be authorized to sign and seal Latecomer Agreement LC 133/09. Committee of the Whole Minutes March 2, 2009 Page 2 of 4 RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. 1102 Bylaw for Highway Closure & Dedication Removal for Portion of Undeveloped Road Dedicated on Plan BCP33856 (west of the 13800 Block of 232 Street) Staff report dated February 25, 2009 recommending that Maple Ridge Highway Closure and Dedication Removal Bylaw No. 6629-2008 to allow the closure of the highway and removal of the road dedication be repealed and that Maple Ridge Highway Closure and Dedication Removal Bylaw No. 6648- 2009 be given first, second and third readings. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. 3. FINANCIAL AND CORPORATE SERVICES (including Fire and Police) 1131 Disbursements for the Month Ended January 31, 2009 Staff report dated February 20, 2009 recommending that disbursements for January 2009 be approved. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. 1132 Strategic Community Investment Funds Staff report dated February 26, 2009 recommending that the Corporate Officer execute the Strategic Community Investment Funds (SCI Funds) Agreement. The General Manager, Corporate and Financial Services reviewed the report. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND RECREATION SERVICES 1151 Reallocation of 2008 UBCM Grants Staff report dated February 24, 2009 recommending that staff be authorized to submit a request to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) to reallocate $55,000 of the 2008 UBCM Tourism Grant for projects outlined in the report. The Manager of Economic Development advised on the progress of the development of a Destination Visitor Information Centre for the Maple Ridge- Pitt Meadows area. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. 1152 CEED Centre Lease Staff report dated February 25, 2009 recommending that the Corporate Officer be authorized to sign and seal the lease agreement with the CEED Centre Society. The Director of Parks and Facilities addressed the fit of the CEED Centre with the neighbouring properties. RECOMMENDATION That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of March 10, 2009. 5. CORRESPONDENCE -Nil 6. OTHER ISSUES -Nil 7.
