The Minutes of the Municipal Council Meeting held on June 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in
the Council Chamber of the Municipal Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, British
Columbia for the purpose of transacting regular Municipal business.

Public Hearing.

No. 6534-2007 on the municipal website and requiring
that the applicant host a Development Information
Meeting, and Council considers it unnecessary to provide
any further consultation opportunities, except by way of
holding a public hearing on the bylaw;
3. That Bylaw No. 6534-2007 be considered in conjunction
with the Capital Expenditure Plan and Waste Management
Plan;
4. That it be confirmed that Bylaw No. 6534-2007 is
consistent with the Capital Expenditure Plan and Waste
Management Plan;
5. That Bylaw No. 6535-2007 be given first reading and be
forwarded to Public Hearing; and
6. That the following terms and conditions be met prior to
final reading:
i) Registration of a Rezoning Servicing Agreement
including the deposit of security as outlined in the
Agreement;
ii) Amendment to Schedule "B" (& "C" if conservation
amendment) of the Official Community Plan;
iii) Registration of a Geotechnical Report;
iv) Cash in lieu of the proposed trail;
v) Road dedication as required;
vi) Park dedication as required;
vii) Registration of a Restrictive Covenant protecting the
Visitor Parking;

Staff report dated June 3, 2008 recommending that Maple Ridge Rental
Premises Standards of Maintenance Bylaw No. 6550-2008 to prescribe
standards for the maintenance of rental residential premises be given
second and third readings.
The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services clarified the
Bylaws Department's response to tenant complaints.

1400 MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Robson requested that the General Manager of Community
Development, Parks and Recreation Services to speak to the presentation
made prior to the Council meeting.
The General Manager of Community Development, Parks and Recreation
Services advised that a donation of $78,800 was received from Epic
Homes as a contribution toward equipment for the ARTS Center.
Mayor Robson attended a Candidates Information Meeting presented by
the District of Maple Ridge and the Operating Engineers Open House. He
reported on discussions being held with Translink over the provision of an
efficient transit system for Maple Ridge. He reminded all that Ridge
Meadows Heritage Day will be held on August 2nd.

COUNCILLORS' REPORTS
Councillor King
Councillor King attended the Federation of Canadian Municipalities
convention held in Quebec City.
Councillor Speirs
Councillor Speirs attended a National Aboriginal Day event sponsored by
the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services centre and a Lower
Mainland Local Government Association Executive meeting. He reminded
residents of a variety of upcoming local events which included the CP Spirit
of 150 Rail Tour, the Caribbean Street Festival, the Jazz and Blues Festival,
Webster's Corners Day and the Music on the Wharf.
Councillor Stewart
Councillor Stewart attended a plaque ceremony at Hammond Park and
participated as a judge for the Senior Idol competition. He also attended
the Ridge Meadows Hospital 50 year anniversary and the Maple Ridge
Secondary School graduation ceremonies.
Councillor Hogarth
Councillor Hogarth attended the Operating Engineers Open House and
reminded residents of the Canada Day celebrations on July 1st.
Councillor Dueck
Councillor Dueck attended all the local high school graduation ceremonies
and a public hearing of the Metro Vancouver Board. She reminded all of
Canada Day and advised that the Maple Ridge Social Planning Advisory
Committee will be presenting the Good Neighbour Award at the celebration.
Councillor Daykin
Councillor Daykin attended the Fraser Valley Regional Library Employee
Long Service Awards, a Maple Ridge Economic Advisory Committee meeting
and a Translink 2040 presentation. He advised that Translink will be
holding a Public Information Meeting in Port Moody on July 8 and
encouraged Maple Ridge residents to attend. Councillor Daykin
acknowledged the 130 year anniversary of the arrival of the Laity and
Hampton families to Maple Ridge.
