COUNCIL MEETING
November 9, 2010
The Minutes of the Municipal Council Meeting held on November 9, 2010 at
7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Municipal Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple
Ridge, British Columbia for the purpose of transacting regular Municipal business.

-Constable Mike Moore, Ridge-Meadows RCMP, Traffic Services
Constable Moore provided information on the new impaired drivers'
legislation. He outlined the differences in the new legislation. He
provided clarification on what is considered a roadside fail under the new
legislation and how this may be determined by an officer.

the following conditions be addressed prior to consideration of
final reading:
i. Approval from the Ministry of Transportation;
ii. Registration of a Rezoning Servicing Agreement as a
Restrictive Covenant and receipt of the deposit of
security as outlined in the Agreement;
iii. Registration of a geotechnical report as a Restrictive
Covenant which addresses the suitability of the site for
the proposed development;
iv. Road dedication as required;
v. Consolidation of the development site;

MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Daykin attended a Mayors' Council meeting for an update on the
2011 Supplemental Plan from Translink. He also attended a book launch
event at Willow Manor regarding a book called "Honour" about war
veterans in Maple Ridge. He participated in the "Bring Your Grade 9 to
Work Day" hosted by the District.
Mayor Daykin advised that that the District of Maple Ridge was recognized
with a Platinum Award for an Innovative and Inclusive Approach to
Communication for the work done on the 224th Street project and also
received a gold award for marketing for the Investment Maple Ridge
Program.
COUNCILLORS' REPORTS
Councillor Hogarth
Councillor Hogarth asked whether information about taxation for transit will
be brought forward to Council for further discussion. Mayor Daykin advised
that this item will be added to an upcoming Workshop agenda.
Councillor Speirs
Councillor Speirs attended meetings of the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows
Parks and Leisure Services Commission, the Maple Ridge Community
Heritage Commission and the Alouette River Management Society. He also
attended a Regional Foods Systems Strategy hosted by Metro Vancouver.
Councillor Dueck
Councillor Dueck attended her usual committee meetings. She also
attended the unveiling of the Legion Leaf and expressed thanks to
Councillor Ashlie for her work on this project.
Councillor Morden
Councillor Morden attended Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Chamber of
Commerce Business Excellence Awards, a Maple Ridge Recycling Society
meeting and a Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association
Security Safety meeting. He participated in the Diwal i Festival held in Pitt
Meadows and encouraged all to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony
to be held in Spirit Square

Councillor Ashlie
Councillor Ashlie attended the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Chamber of
Commerce Business Excellence Awards and the unveiling of the Legion
Leaf. She offered recognition to the Ridge Meadows Educational
Foundation Board for the support and work done in fundraising for the art
exhibit.
Councillor King
Councillor King attended an Agricultural Advisory Committee business
planning meeting and a meeting of the Maple Ridge Social Planning
Advisory Committee. She also attended the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows
Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards and the Diwali Festival
in Pitt Meadows.
