ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA The agenda was adopted with the addition of the following item: 4.5 Proposed Provincial Legislation on First Nations Reserve Land R/2012-215 Council Matrix Update It was moved and seconded That the Council Matrix be amended to include a staff report in the month of June, 2012 on the scope and cost of a consultant to review options with respect to the collection of organics and other related items in the waste stream. MINUTES R/2012-216 Minutes April 30, 2012 It was moved and seconded That the minutes of the Council Workshop Meeting of April 30, 2012 be adopted as circulated. CARRIED 3. PRESENTATIONS AT THE REQUEST OF COUNCIL -Nil 4. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Transportation Plan Update -Presentation by John Steiner, Urban Systems Mr. Steiner gave a PowerPoint presentation which provided an overview of the process for the new transportation plan and highlights of key aspirations and issues for the District of Maple Ridge. The Municipal Engineer advised that a draft of the Transportation Plan is expected to come before Council in the Fall of 2012. 4.2 Amenity Zoning -Update Staff report dated May 14, 2012 recommending that the staff report dated May 14, 2012 providing an update on the process, scope of work and timeline for the amenity zoning review be received for information. The Manager of Community Planning gave a PowerPoint presentation providing details on the amenity zoning process and the next steps in the study. R/2012-217 Amenity Zoning Update Receive It was moved and seconded That the staff report dated May 14, 2012 titled "Amenity Zoning -Update" be received for information and discussion. CARRIED Council Workshop Minutes May 14, 2012 Page 3 of 4 4.3 Design Criteria -Small Lots Staff report dated May 14, 2012 recommending that staff be directed to amend the Zoning Bylaw for small lots with regard to external basement doors. The Manager of Development and Environment Services General Manager reviewed the report. R/2012-218 Design Criteria Small Lots Forward to Council 4.4 Matrix Update It was moved and seconded That the staff report dated May 14, 2012 titled "Design Criteria -Small Lots" be forwarded to the May 22, 2012 Council Meeting for further discussion. CARRIED The Chief Administrative Officer reviewed the updated Matrix R/2012-219 Matrix Update Approved It was moved and seconded That the updated Council Matrix covering the period of January 1 through September 30, 2012 be adopted. CARRIED 4.5 Proposed Provincial Legislation on First Nations Reserve Land Councillor Morden referred to provincial legislation pertaining to building regulations in relation to two First Nations projects. The Chief Administrative Officer suggested that staff be directed to follow up with the Province with respect to the legislation. Council Workshop Minutes May 14, 2012 Page 4 of 4 R/2O12-22O Proposed Provincial Legislation It was moved and seconded That Council ask staff to follow up with the Provincial Government on the proposed legislation to be introduced that will allow Provincial laws and regulations, ie. (Building Code) to apply to major projects on First Nations Reserve Land. CARRIED 5. CORRESPONDENCE -Nil 6. BRIEFING ON OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST/QUESTIONS FROM COUNCIL -Nil 7.
