It was the consensus of CoW1cil that Mayor Morse send a notice of motion to the GVRD asking other municipalities to send similar correspondence_. 5. CORRESPONDENCE 5.1 Federation of Canadian Municipalities, 2005 Sustainable Community Awards Letter dated November 23, 2004 seeking applications for the 2005 Awards. R/04-539 FCM 2005 Awards MOVED by Councillor Speirs SECONDED by Councillor Dueck That the letter dated November 23, 2004 from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities seeking applications for the 2005 Sustainable Community Awards be forwarded to staff to prepare a report and recommendation. CARRIED 6. BRIEFING ON OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST/QUESTIONS FROM COUNCIL Councillor Dueck refe1Ted to a letter addressed to Mayor and Cow1cil concerning beaver traps in the community. Mayor Morse advised that the letter was referred to the Director of Parks and Facilities for response. Councillor Speirs asked for information concerning a cell tower located on Blue Mountain. The General Manager Public Works and Development Services advised that staff would be bringing a policy concerning this subject to a Council Workshop in January. He indicated that although a public process is not required to install a tower on private property it has been the practice of companies to go through such a process but this was not done in this instance. 7.
