ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA The agenda was approved as circulated with the addition of the following items: 4.3 Meeting with Pitt Meadows and Port Coquitlam 4.4 Nanaiino Bylaw re Liquor Sales 2. MINUTES R/04-127 Minutes March 22, 2004 MOVED by Councillor Gordon SECONDED by Councillor Daykin That the minutes of the Council Workshop Meeting of March 22, 2004 be adopted as circulated. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Financial Workshop -Other Revenue Sources, Part 2 The Director of Finance and Accountant III gave a Power Point presentation on Reserve Funds, Reserve Accounts, Fund Balances and Surplus. A copy of the presentation was circulated. 4.2 Maple Ridge, 227 Street Road Works Local Improvement Construction Bylaw No. 6215-2004 Staff report dated March 31, 2004 recommending that Bylaw No. 6215-2004 be reconsidered and adopted. The General Manager Public Works and Development Services reviewed the report and provided information on the communication plan for this project. R/04-128 227 St. LIP BL 6215-2004 Final reading MOVED by Councillor Isaac SECONDED by Councillor Dueck That Maple Ridge 227 Improvement Construction reconsidered and adopted. Street Road By-law No. 4.3 Meeting with Pitt Meadows and Port Coquitlam Works Local 6215-2004 be CARRIED The Municipal Clerk advised that in response to a request from Council to set up a meeting with Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows to discuss transportation issues, a tentative date of April 21, 2004 has been set with Port Coquitlam. The date has not yet been confirmed with Pitt Meadows. Council indicated that April 21, 2004 was an appropriate date and directed the Municipal Clerk to continue to make appropriate arrangements. 1 i I I • Council Works hop Minutes April 5, 2004 Page 3 of3 4.4 Nanaimo Bylaw re Liquor Sales Councillor Speirs indicated that he had been approached by a local pub owner and asked if Council would consider a bylaw placing a minimum charge on drinks similar to the bylaw passed by the City ofNanaimo. It was the consensus of Council that staff be directed to gather information on this topic for discussion at a future Council Workshop. ACTION REQUIRED Staff is to prepare information on the control of liquor prices at licensed premises. 5. CORRESPONDENCE -Nil 6. BRIEFING ON OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST/QUESTIONS FROM COUN CIL 7.
