SPECIAL COUNCIL WORKSHOP
May 10, 2005
The Minutes of the Municipal Council Workshop held on May 10, 2005 at 8:25 p.m. in
the Blaney Room of the Municipal Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, British
Columbia for the purpose of transacting regular Municipal business.

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:25 p.m.
2. DRAFT OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN
Continuation of the discussion of the Draft Official Community Plan (OCP) from
the May 9, 2005 Council Workshop.
The Director of Planning gave a Power Point presentation providing information
on the process to refer the OCP to the Greater Vancouver Regional District for
amendments to the Livable Region Strategic Plan, some Maple Ridge issues and
ti ming options for consideration of the Official Community Plan Bylaw.
Council discussion of the presentation was interrupted by a member of the public
shouting derogatory comments at the Mayor and Council. Mayor Morse advised
the individual that his comments were not appropriate. The individual continued

with his comments. Mayor Morse suggested to Council that the meeting be
adjourned. As the individual left Council Chambers, the meeting continued.
Council discussed the process and timing for consideration of the OCP bylaw. It
was the consensus of Council to continue the review of the draft Plan at the May
16, 2005 Council Workshop.
