The Municipal Clerk advised that the first Monday of the month seems ·10 be the
best opportunity to schedule an evening Community Forum so as not to conflict
with Advisory Committee meetings.
Council discussed the advantages and disadvantages of hosting a community
forum the first Monday of every second month.
The Municipal Clerk pointed out that there is also an opportunity to hold this
meeting on the same night as scheduled Public Hearings. The Forum could take
place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Public Hearing starting at 8:00 p.m.
The following suggestions were made for the format of the Forum:
• Advertise the dates and times.
• Encourage people to contact the Clerk's Department to advise that they
will be attending and the subject matter they wish to discuss in order to
give Council and staff an opportunity to have information available to
address their concerns.
• Review the format after a period of time to determine if it is meeting the
needs of the citizens.
• Schedule meetings starting in October.
