ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA The agenda was adopted as circulated. 2. MINUTES R/06-162 Minutes April 10,2006 It was moved and seconded That the minutes of the Council Workshop Meeting of April 10, 2006 be adopted as circulated. CARRIED Council Workshop Minutes April 24. 2006 Page 2 of3 3. PRESENTATIONS AT THE REQUEST OF COUNCIL -Nil 4. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Golden Ears Bridge Project Update, Fred Cummings, Project Director and Bill Kendrick, Bridge Design Manager, Golden Crossing Constructors Joint Venture Fred Cummings, Bill Kendrick and Janice Keys gave a Power Point presentation providing an update on the schedule, design and communications for the Golden Ears Blidge Project. Note: Councillor King arrived at 10:53 a.m. The following suggestions were made for consideration: • Include a "Welcome to Maple Ridge" sign in the design elements • Review the design to identify if the bridge could support light rail • Develop a regional tolling policy 4.2 Official Community Plan Presentation of the Draft Visioning Report, John Steil, Stantec Consulting Ltd. John Steil, Stantec Consulting Ltd. gave a Power Point presentation providing an overview of the draft Visioning Report. R/06-163 OCP Visioning Report It was moved and seconded That the report prepared by Stantec Consulting Ltd. entitled "Visioning Maple Ridge" dated ApriJ 17, 2006 be accepted as the completed final report and that the report be used as the basis for the final analysis of the draft Official Community Plan. CARRIED __ ) Council Workshop Minutes April 24, 2006 Page 3 of3 4.3 Regional Shooting Range Staff report dated April 19, 2006 recommending that staff be directed to work with the Greater Vancouver Regional District to investigate the feasibility of locating a regional indoor rifle range in Maple Ridge. The General Manager of Community Development, Parks and Recreational Services reviewed the report. R/06-164 Regional Shooting Range It was moved and seconded That staff be directed to work with the Greater Vancouver Regional District to investigate the feasibility of locating a sustainable regional indoor rifle range in Maple Ridge noting that such a facility would have to be operated independently at no cost to the District of Maple Ridge. CARRIED 5. CORRESPONDENCE -Nil 6. BRIEFING ON OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST/QUESTIONS FROM COUNCIL -Nil 7. MATTERS DEEMED EXPEDIENT -Nil 8. ADJOURNMENT -12:22 p.m. Certified Correct
