February 27, 2006
The Minutes of the Municipal Council Workshop held on February 27, 2006 at 10:30
a.m. in the Blaney Room of the Municipal Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple Ridge,
British Columbia for the purpose of transacting regular Municipal business.

3. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
3.1 Mainstage 2006 Theatre Festival
Vicki McLeod and John Stuart gave a Power Point presentation providing an
overview of Theatre BC's 9-day Drama Festival taking place at The ACT June
30-July 8, 2006.
ACTION REQUIRED
Council is to consider applying to be part of the permanent rotation of the
Mainstage Theatre Festival foJlowing the staging of the event in Maple
Ridge.
3.2 Local Government 101
The Manager of Communications gave a Power Point presentation providing
information on a public education program aimed at increasing the knowledge of
the role and responsibility of local government in Maple Ridge .
3 .3 Tender for Lacrosse Box Construction at Maple Ridge Secondary School
Staff report dated February 21, 2006 recommending that the tender for the
construction of a lacrosse box at Maple Ridge Secondary School be awarded to
Custom Blacktop Company and that capital funds be re-allocated from the
Municipal entry sign budget to the lacrosse box.
The General Manager of Community Development, Parks and Recreational
reviewed the report and indicated that the report would proceed from Council
Workshop to the Council meeting of February 28, 2006 for a decision by Council.
3.4 Budget Approval for Official Community Plan Visioning Process
A staff report dated February 23, 2006 recommending that a budget be established
for the Official Community Plan Visioning Process was circulated prior to the
meeting.
The Director of Planning reviewed the report and advised that the report would
proceed from Council Workshop to the Council meeting of February 28, 2006 for
a decision by Council.

4. PRESENTATIONS AT THE REQUEST OF COUNCIL
Pat Jacobsen, Bob Paddon, Carol Lee and Fred Cummings of TransLink, and
Mike Proudfoot and Pam Ryan of the Ministry of Transportation joined the
meeting.
4.1 TransLink, Pat Jacobsen, Chief Executive Officer
Pat Jacobsen gave a Power Point presentation providing an update on the Maple
Ridge and Pitt Meadows Area Transit Plan.
4.2 Golden Ears Bridge, Fred Cummings, Project Manager
Fred Cummings gave a Power Point presentation providing an overview of the
Golden Ears Bridge project and details of design and construction scheduling.
4.3 Gateway Project, Mike Proudfoot, Pam Ryan, Program Development
Director
Mike Proudfoot gave a Power Point presentation describing the projects included
in the Gateway Program.
