The Minutes of the Closed Council Meeting held in the Blaney Room of the Municipal
Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, British Columbia on January 30, 2006 at 11:47
a.m. for the purpose of transacting special Municipal business.

Approval of meeting It was moved and seconded
The meeting will be closed to the public pursuant to Sections
90 (1) and 90 (2) of the Community Charter and Council
Procedure By-law No. 5871-1999 as the subject matter being
considered relates to one or more of the following:
1. Litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality.
2. Personal information about an identifiable individual who
holds or is being considered for a position as an officer,
employee or agent of the municipality or another position
appointed by the District.
3. Any other matter that may be brought before the Council
that meets the requirements for a meeting closed to the
public pursuant to Sections 90 (1) and 90 (2) of the
Community Charter or Freedom of Information and
Protection of Privacy Act.

3. PRESENTATIONS AT THE REQUEST OF COUNCIL -Nil
4. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
4.1 Alouette Horne Start Society, Sheila McLaughlin and Dave Speers
Dave Speers and Sheila McLaughlin gave a power point presentation providing
information regarding the Iron Horse Youth Safe House and Community
Outreach Program. A copy of the presentation, Social Housing statistics and a
Government of Canada brochure titled "Leadership Challenge on Homelessness"
were circulated to Council. Ms. McLaughlin requested that Council consider
providing a letter of support to the Society for provincial funding of the Iron
Horse Youth Safe House.

That a letter of support for funding from the Provincial
Government for the Iron Horse Youth Safe House be
provided to the Alouette Home Start Society.

4.2 Commercial Property Tax Rates
Staff report dated January 23, 2006 providing information on property taxation as
it applies to the business community.
The Financial Analyst gave a Power Point presentation providing an overview of
the report. A copy of the presentation was circulated to Council.
4.3 Fraser Valley Regional Library
Councillor Daykin provided information on the Library's draft budget which will
be voted on by the Board on February 22, 2006.
