PRESENTATIONS AT THE REQUEST OF COUNCIL -Nil Council Workshop Minutes January 9, 2006 Page 2 of 3 4. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Maple Ridge Museum Presentation, Val Patenaude and Sharif Senbel The General Manager of Community Development, Parks and Recreational Services advised that funding for construction and operation of a new museum is not within the District's 5 year plan. Val Patenaude provided background infonnation on the design requirements for a new museum. She indicated that the design being presented included all desired elements for a museum but that some of the options could be phased in. She advised that there could be additional funding sources through other levels of government. Sharif Senbel gave a power point presentation providing details of the museum. 4.2 B.C. Assessment Authority, Property Assessment Notices The General Manager of Corporate and Financial Services gave a power point presentation providing information on the property assessment and property taxation processes. 4.3 Committee Appointments Consideration of a resolution to amend the Committee Appointments to appoint Councillor King to the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society and to appoint Councillor Speirs to the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council. The Municipal Clerk advised that the resolution should be that Councillor Speirs be appointed to the Community Heritage Commission instead of the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council. R/06-02 Committee Appointments It was moved and seconded That Councillor King be appointed as the Council liaison to the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society in place of Councillor Speirs and that Councillor Speirs be appointed as the Council liaison to the Maple Ridge Community Heritage Commission in place of Councillor King. CORRESPONDENCE 5.1 Bus Accessibility for Senior's and People with Disabilities, City of North Vancouver Letter from Sandra Dowey, City Clerk, providing infonnation on a resolution by the City of North Vancouver to request that any new purchase of buses for the North Shore and the region as a whole be low floor buses. R/06-03 Correspondence It was moved and seconded City of N. Vancouver That the letter dated October 19, 2005 from Sandra Dowey, City Clerk, City of North Vancouver, be received for information and forwarded to the Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility Issues.
