UNFINISHED AND NEW B(ISINESS Maple Ridge Development process Staffreport dated June 4, 2007 recommending bylaw, policy, and procedural changes to the development process be forwarded to Cãuncil for cãnsideration. The Director of Planning gave a powerpoint presentation which provided anoverview of the development process review and improvements io the process asrecommended by staff The Director of Planning advised that several forums with the developmentcommunity had been held, that negative feedback had been minimal and that therehad been no opposition to the suggested changes as developers understood that the process presented is standard throughout tle Lower tr¿aintan¿. That the Maple Ridge Development process staff report datedJune 4, 2007 recommending bylaw, policy, and procedural changes to the development process be forwarded to theCommittee of the \ilhole meeting of June 1912007. CARRIED Note: Councillor Hogarth left the meeting at Il:42 a.m. 4.2 Freshet Update The Chief Administrative Offtcer advised that the freshet of 2007 had run itscourse. Council Workshop Minutes June 18,2007 Page 3 of4 4.3 R/07-310 UBCM Resolutions 4.4 R/07-3 1 1 Federation of Cdn Municipalities Constitution Discussion of UBCM Resolutions The Manager of Legislative Services advised that a list of resolutions previously submiued by Council had been provided. She referred to a letter dated June 1I,2007 from Brenda Binnie, President, Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM), providing information pertaining to a proposal for a single businèss ücence and asked Council if they wished to prepare a resolution for UBCM. Discussion of the Federation of canadian Municipalities constitution Councillor King provided information pertaining to the removal of a duly elected Director to the Fãderation of Canadian Municipalities. She advised that concem had been expressed in regard to a section of the constitution of the Fe<leration of Canadialí Municipalities pertaining to removal of directors and requested that a letter be forwarded to the-Federation requesting that section be changed' It was moved and seconded That the union of British columbia Municipalities be advised that the District of Maple Ridge does not support a proposal by the Ministry of small Business and Revenue for a single business license for municipalities throughout BC' CARzuED It was moved and seconded That a letter be forwarded to the Federation of canadian Municipalities requesting that Article 11, Section 25, Removal of Directors, in the FCM Bylaws, be changed to include some reasoning for the removal of a director; and That a full report concerning the recent removal of a director be received as soon as the Federal of Canadian Municipalities is able to produce one.
