Mr. Meiklejohn gave a PowerPoint presentation which provided a site plan
of the new building and its outside facilities, the interior layout of the
building as well as artist’s renderings of the new building. He explained the
landscape plan, the noise buffering around the building and the LEED
target being pursued.

growth in membership and the accomplishments in the first six months of
2009.

Mayor Daykin attended the Air Cadets Annual Ceremonial Review and the
Girl Guides Annual Youth Achievement Awards Ceremony. He also
attended the Samuel Robertson Secondary School Graduation ceremony,
the closing ceremonies of the Eagle Classic Track Meet at Maple Ridge
Secondary School and the 105th birthday celebration of Alma Warburton.
He participated in the Tim Horton’s Camp Day fundraiser by volunteering at
the drive thru window at Tim Horton’s.

Councillor Morden attended meetings with TransLink, the BC Lotteries
Corporation, the Emergency Planning Committee and the Downtown Maple
Ridge Business Improvement Association. He also attended the 2009
Accessibility Awards event sponsored by the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows
Municipal Advisory Committee for Accessibility Issues and the graduation
ceremony at Garibaldi Secondary School.

Councillor King attended meetings with TransLink, the Metro Vancouver
Labour Relations Bureau, the Metro Vancouver Agriculture Committee. She
also attended a Social Planning Advisory Committee meeting and Pitt
Meadows Day. She encouraged residents to donate to the Friend in Need
Food Bank through use of donation chits available in local supermarkets.

Councillor Ashlie attended the 20009 Federation of Canadian
Municipalities Conference. She also attended a Agricultural Advisory
Committee meeting, the Relay for Life at Maple Ridge Secondary School,
the Vistas Run and the luncheon launching Seniors’ Week. She reported
on the Relay for Life held at Maple Ridge Secondary School.
Mayor Daykin also reminded residents of the Golden Ears Bridge Opening
and the Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion Event which are both taking place
on June 14.

Mr. Ducharme spoke to the recent demolition of an unsafe building in
Maple Ridge. He questioned why Northumberland Court can remain
occupied when other buildings can be vacated due to structural damage.
Mayor Daykin advised that the District is working with legal counsel to
resolve issues at Northumberland Court.

Ms. Hendricks expressed concern pertaining to a recent altercation in
Northumberland Court involving police and the negative effect on her
children and the neighbourhood. She asked when the safety of residents
on the street will be addressed.
Mayor Daykin again advised that the District is addressing the issues at
Northumberland Court through legal counsel.

Mr. Harper asked if the District will publish a schedule indicating which
remedial repairs have completed at Northumberland Court by certified
personnel.
The Chief Administrative Officer advised that the Director of Licences,
Permits and Bylaws is working on the Northumberland Court file and that
updates will with respect to time lines and repairs will be provided to
Council.

Mr. Noon expressed concern with the lack of sidewalks between Powell
Avenue and 123B Avenue on 203rd Street. He asked for an update on the
scheduling of improvements, particularly sidewalks, for that area.
The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services will meet
with Mr. Noon to provide details of this project.

Mr. Ducharme asked if the District has contacted the Ministry of
Employment and Income Assistance to advise of the potential of remedial
repairs not being completed at Northumberland Court.
The Chief Administrative Officer advised that the Director of Licences,
Permits and Bylaws is in dialogue with the provincial government.
