The Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held virtually and hosted in Council Chambers on
November 14, 2023 at 7:00 pm at City Hall, 11995 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, BC for the purpose of
transacting regular City business.

Enter into a driveway access agreement at subject property.

unopened road allowance beyond the western end cul-de-sac of 98 Avenue, the eastern end of
Bell Avenue, to property located at 9878 285 Street, be given adoption.

9.2 Consolidated Fees & Charges Amending Bylaw -Recreation Service Fees
Annual review and adjustment of recreation service fees.

adoption.

9.3 lntermunicipal Business Licence Bylaw No. 7915-2023 and lntermunicipal Business Licence
Agreement Bylaw No. 7971-2023
To repeal and replace the lntermunicipal Business Licence Scheme to remove the City of Merritt
as a participating municipality.

10. COMMITTEE REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
10.1 2022-457-RZ. 12035 222 Street, Temporary Use Permit
Application is to allow a temporary accessory off-street parking use at the subject property.

1) That Temporary Use Permit No. 2022-457-RZ respecting property located at 12035 222
Street, to allow a temporary off-street parking use accessory to the commercial building
location at 22195 DewdneyTrunk Road, for a maximum period of three years, be
forwarded to Public Hearing and subsequent Council meeting for decision; and
2) That following the Public Hearing, the Corporate Officer be authorized to sign and seal
Temporary Use Permit 2022-457-RZ, once the following terms and conditions are met:

(i) removal of existing organic material and installation of 3n minus road base and ¼n
clear crush, as per applicant's proposal;
(ii) registration of a Cross-Access Easement between 12035 222 Street and 22195
Dewdney Trunk Road; and
(iii) installation of landscaping as detailed in the provided Landscaping Plan and
payment of the associated refundable Landscape Security of $3,784.00.

That the Mayor write a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to request that the federal
government:
• Recognize the humanitarian crisis unfolding as a result of the current conflict,
• Call for an immediate ceasefire and release of all hostages, and
• Provide leadership in the flow of humanitarian aid.

That Mayor and Council of the City of Maple Ridge condemn all acts of anti-semitism, racism
and lslamophobia in our country, which has risen this past month. We call on all levels of
government to commit to ensuring our communities are just, safe and welcoming for all; and,
That MP Marc Dalton receive a copy of the letter.

13. PUBLIC QUESTION PERIOD
Two members of the public provided comments to Council:
1. Carl Lundgren of Maple Ridge requested Council consider waiving recreation facility rental
fees for non-profit organizations that offer addiction services.
2. Asiba Naibkhil of Surrey spoke regarding Item 12, praising Council for passing the Motion
and urging her Municipality's Council to do the same.
14. MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS' REPORTS
Mayor and Council provided an update on their participation in recent community events.
