The Minutes of the Regular Public Art Steering Committee Meeting held via Zoom teleconference and
hosted in the Blaney Room at Maple Ridge City Hall on April 6, 2023 at 4:00 pm.

The Staff Liaison, D. Slevin, presented a brief overview of the Culture Map and discussed the
call for artists, 2023 PASC budget, art tours around the community, online tools and the
Museum-Trees in Bloom exhibition.

That Dana Bates and Courtney Miller be appointed to the Culture Map Task Force for 2023.

5.3. ACT 20th Anniversary Public Art Proje~ -Courtney Miller
C. Miller, Arts Council Representative, presented on the ACT 20th Anniversary Window Art
Installation. Topics included: project goals, timelines, parameters, building fagade, artist
eligibility, project phases, and examples from other municipalities. Committee members
discussed: artist eligibility, selection process timeline, deadlines, copy right laws and artwork
parameters.
5.4. Council's Strategic Plan
Councillor Carreras provided a brief overview of Council's Strategic Plan. Topic included: core
values, mission and vision statement, a livable community, an engaged healthy community,
arts and culture, and diversifying a thriving economy.
6. LIAISON UPDATES
6.1. Staff Liaison
D. Slevin provided an update on the following:
• The Lougheed Hwy pedestrian pathway mural approval for the north and south
exteriors.
6.2. Council Liaison -NIL
7. TASK FORCES
7.1. Artist in Residence -Fern Crescent
D. Slevin, Staff Liaison, provided an update on the Fern Crescent Artist in Residence project.
Topics included: community groups involvement, location of artwork and relevant policies.
Committee members discussed artist selection process and timelines.

D. Slevin, Staff Liaison, provided an overtiew of the Albion Community Centre layout for art
installation. Committee members discussed types of artwork that could be displayed, location,
and community collaboration to promote diversity.

appointed to the Albion Community Centre Task Force or 2023.
