902 227 Street Roadwork from Lougheed Hwy. To Dewdney Trunk Road -
Charges Bylaw
Staff report dated October 16, 2003 recommending that Maple Ridge 227 Street
(Lougheed Highway to Dewdney Trunk Road) Local Improvement Charges
Bylaw No. 6172-2003 be given three readings.
The Director of Development Engineerin~ reviewed the report and displayed an
illustration of the proposed design for 22i Street.

The General Manager Public Works and Development Services identified that
Council's policy provides for cost sharing with the municipality if a Local
Improvement Project is deemed to be of broad benefit to the community. For this
project, the district will pay 60% of the costs and the benefiting property owners
will contribute 40% of the costs.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of October 28,
2003.
ACTION REQUIRED
Staff is to provide a map at the Council meeting that provides a broader view
of planning for the downtown area road network.
903 VP/105/02, NW Corner of Dewdney Trunk Road and 237 Street
Staff report dated October 9, 2003 recommending that qualifying property owners
be advised that VP/105/02 to allow the existing above-ground electrical plan
fronting Dewdney Trunk Road to remain will be considered at the November 25,
2003 Council meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of October 28,
2003.
904 The Royal Canadian Legion -Remembrance Day Parade
Staff report dated October 7, 2003 recommending that the Legion be authorized to
use municipal streets for their Annual Remembrance Day Parade.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of October 28,
2003.

905 22 nd Annual Haney-Harrison Road Relay
Staff report dated October 6, 2003 recommending that BC Road Running be
authorized to use municipal streets for a relay on November 8, 2003.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of October 28,
2003.

931 Disbursements for the month ended August 31, 2003
Staff report dated September 19, 2003 recommending that the disbursements for
August be approved.
RECOMMENDATION
That the staff report be forwarded to the Council Meeting of October 28,
2003.

Mr. Nicholson asked who would pay the difference ifthere were cost overrides on
the 22ih Street Local Improvement Project. The General Manager of Public
W arks and Development Services advised that once the rates are set, the District
would be responsible for cost overrides.
