The Minutes of the Regular Economic Development Advisory Committee Meeting held virtually and hosted in the Blaney Room at Maple Ridge City Hall on April 11, 2024, at 4:00 pm.

The Chair called the meeting to order and provided the territory acknowledgement.

Page 2 of 4 3. ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES R/2024-EDC-008 It was moved and seconded That the minutes of the January 25, 2024, Economic Development Advisory Committee regular meeting be adopted. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 4. DELEGATIONS
4.1. 2024 BC Summer Games – Presentation
The Economic Development Advisory Committee Members and staff introduced themselves. The delegations, Christa Balatti, City of Maple Ridge, Manager of Special Projects, and the 2024 BC Summer Games Board of Directors: Ernie Daykin, Vice President; Taryn Stephenson, Ceremonies & Special Events; and Brian Krieger, Friends of the Games, introduced themselves. Ernie Daykin, Vice President, 2024 BC Summer Games Board of Directors, gave a presentation on the Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games. Topics included: Introduction of Provincial Partners; an overview of the athletes and sports; hosting benefits, which included volunteer roster establishment, legacies, relationship strengthening, community pride, and local tourism; 2024 BC Summer Games organizational structure overview; business community engagement, which included economic drivers, placemaking, future investments, business leaders support, sponsorship, relationship building, volunteerism; Successes, which included Chamber of Commerce events, multiple events occurring during the 2024 BC Summer Games, Friends of the Games Sponsorship Program, and Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association partnership; volunteer recruitment information; and Torchlighting Celebration event. The Committee was encouraged to speak to their contacts about getting involved in sponsoring and volunteering. E. Daykin said an electronic copy of materials would be provided to the Committee for circulation. 5. NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Page 3 of 4 T. Westover provided an overview of the potential 2024 Economic Development Advisory Committee workplan items. Committee members provided their recommendations and feedback. There was consensus to provide feedback and input on all the potential workplan items and to equally prioritize them. Staff said that facilitated questions on the workplan items would be circulated to the Committee for consideration so that thoughts could be formulated in advance of the meeting dates. R/2024-EDC-009 It was moved and seconded That the 2024 Economic Development Advisory Committee Workplan be adopted, as circulated. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY C. Fewer left the meeting at 5:15 pm. G. Tan left the meeting at 5:18 pm. 5.2. 2024 BC Summer Games –Volunteers
T. Westover encouraged the Committee Members to volunteer and consider the opportunity as a team building activity for their businesses. 5.3. Sparkle Week: April 15 – 19, 2024
T. Westover provided a brief overview of Sparkle Week, April 15 to 19, 2024, in downtown Maple Ridge. 5.4. BC Buy Local Workshop: April 8, 2024
T. Westover provided an overview of the BC Buy Local Workshop which took place on April 8, 2024. Committee members provided their recommendations and feedback. 6. LIAISON UPDATES 6.1. Staff Liaison
T. Westover provided an update on local events and activities, which included: Intergovernmental affairs and relationship building with local First Nation communities, a fast growing area of tourism; the Ridge Meadows Home Show, May 3 to 5, 2024; Maple Ridge filming Industry growth, which had recently led to filming and closure of Golden Ears Way; first quarter internal reporting; Local Curbside Patio program; Dine Out with the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Improvement Association had led to more than 500 new subscribers to the BizNews in the Ridge, Department of Economic Development Newsletter; the future Malcolm Knapp network event; Agricultural Land

Page 4 of 4 Commission relationship building to achieve new mandates; Invest Vancouver engagement; and Hydro capital plan increases and infrastructure upgrades. 6.2. Council Liaison
Councillor O. Dozie provided an update on the Council budget approval last week. It was noted that property taxes are the primary revenue and Council will try to look at other sources of revenue to increase infrastructure in Maple Ridge. 7. TASK FORCE UPDATES – NIL 8.
