Reporting Damage: The applicant is responsible for: a) Reporting damage to existing City utilities prior to entering the building site b) Securing all City utilities during building construction c) The cost to repair any damage to City services will be borne by the applicant d) Applicants should inform the Inspection Division of the Operations Centre of any damage to City Services at 463-9581. 2. Encroachment: The City does not allow any encroachment onto statutory right-of-way, (R.O.W.). This includes, but is not limited to: a) Roof overhang b) Retaining walls c) Fences d) Planting of trees e) Fill from original lot grading f) Applicants may be required to submit a profile of a proposed driveway, where a concrete sidewalk does not exist, to the Engineering Department for approval g) Portions of driveways on R.O.W. must be constructed to match existing shoulder/swale/boulevard grade. 3. Water Service a) Isolation Joint: Applicants must install a 1.0 metre x 1.0 metre isolation joint around the water shut off/meter box if a concrete driveway is installed over the water service. Refer to standard drawing SDW.11 b) Depth of meter box: Water meter box shall be installed as per standard drawing SDW.1. 4. Sanitary Service Applicants must install a cover over the sanitary service if a driveway is installed over the sanitary service. Refer to standard drawing "Inspection Chamber". 5. Adjustment to Services The City must approve adjustments to water or sanitary services. The cost for any adjustment is the sole responsibility of the applicant. 6. Clean and tidy Condition Applicants must maintain a clean condition in front of the property. Tracking of mud onto the paved road is prohibited. Excavated material, construction material, trailers, equipment, debris, etc., are not to be stored on the R.O.W., unless authorized by a Highway Use Permit. Mud or fresh concrete is not to be washed into the storm or sanitary sewer systems. In addition, the applicant must provide a sketch to the Engineering Department regarding off street parking for employees during construction, as well as tracking mud control and sediment trap installations. Failure to adhere to these conditions could result in action being taken by the City at the applicant's cost. Unpaid invoices will be added to the property taxes of the frontage. 7. Final Inspection A final inspection will be made prior to issuance of the Occupancy Permit. The applicant will be responsible for correcting any damage to City utilities prior to Occupancy Permit being issued. Construction Address Applicant's Signature Date
