PARK POLICY NO. 6.03 APPROVAL DATE: April 19, 1993 POLICY STATEMENT: New urban developments adjacent to Kanaka Creek Regional Park are to: a) Retain an effective buffer zone adjacent
to the park creek and close to Kanaka Creek road; and b) Consider scenic easements, tree preservation, increased building setbacks, or parkland dedication as a means of retaining this
buffer zone as appropriate. PURPOSE: The Greater Vancouver Regional District analyzed the ecologically sensitive lower reaches of Kanaka Creek Regional Park (from 240th Street to 232nd
Street) and requested Council to ensure appropriate development standards for those urban lands adjacent to the Park boundary.
