Heritage plaques will only be installed with the owner's consent. 2. The installation of a heritage plaque does not confer any heritage designation or protection. 3. The Community Heritage Commission will select buildings for the installation of a heritage plaque. 4. The Community Heritage Commission will accept recommendations from the community for possible heritage plaque installations. 5. If a building is destroyed or demolished the plaque shall be returned to the District of Maple Ridge. 6. If the plaque is removed from a building it shall be returned to the District of Maple Ridge. PURPOSE: The objective of the Heritage Plague program is to recognize the heritage value or heritage character of structures, sites, or landscape features in Maple Ridge by installing heritage plaques on or nearby these items.
