Staff report dated January 18, 2009 providing 2009 assessment information
as received from BC Assessment.
The Manager of Revenue Collections provided a PowerPoint presentation
which outlined the 2009 Preliminary Assessment Review and reviewed the
standard process followed in tax assessment to achieve municipal tax rates.
The General Manager, Corporate and Financial Services provided information
on the tax exemption granted to the Golden Ears Bridge properties by the
Provincial Government.

Staff report dated January 20, 2009 recommending that the Ridge Canoe and
Kayak (RCKC) be given approval in principle for the lease of the land at
Whonnock Lake.
The Director of Parks and Facilities reviewed the report.

Mr. Fedechko provided details of the club’s undertaking to develop a

of District of Maple Ridge in the venture will contribute to future fundraising
and planning opportunities.
Mr. Fedechko was invited to give a presentation detailing the Ridge Canoe
and Kayak Club’s proposal at the February 10, 2009 Council meeting.

Ms. Bosco expressed concern over the extension of Abernethy Way and the
impact of the planned roadway expansion on the residential and farming
areas. She asked that Council reassess the plan for the extension.
The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services advised on
the current status of the Abernethy Way extension proposal and of upcoming
public information sessions.
