RCMP Assistant Commissioner German provided an overview of regional and
local policing matters. He spoke to the everyday operations at the Ridge
Meadows detachment, advised on the regional integrated police units and
provided information on the policing aspects and security for the 2010
Olympics. The Assistant Commissioner also addressed police accountability
and transparency and the issue of police investigating incidences involving
other police members. He advised that the RCMP is supportive of public
oversight of police incidences.

Staff report dated November 25, 2009 recommending that the Corporate
Officer be authorized to sign and seal DVP/068/08 to retain an existing lane
and vary minimum height requirements of the C-3 zone and further that the
Corporate Officer be authorized to sign and seal DP/068/08 to permit
construction of a two storey building with underground parking.

Staff report dated December 8, 2009 recommending that Maple Ridge Local
Area Service Policy No. 5.01 (Rev.1) be rescinded and that Maple Ridge Local
Area Service Policy No. 5.01 (Rev.2) to add a new Qualifying Work and Cost
Sharing Ratio for the conversion of private driveways within road allowances
to an acceptable road standard be adopted.
The Manager of Corporate and Development Engineering reviewed the report.
The General Manager, Public Works and Development Services advised on
payment options available to homeowners involved with this type of Local
Area Service. He also advised that if monies owed for the services are being
paid through property taxes, the taxes will remain on the property should it be
sold.
