Planning Councillor L. King C. Marlo, Manager of Legislative Services Councillor M. Morden A. Gaunt, Confidential Secretary Councillor C. Speirs 1. CALL TO ORDER – 2:00 p.m. Mayor Daykin
called the meeting to order. 2. DISCUSSION OF DRAFT METRO VANCOUVER REGIONAL GROWTH STRATEGY ISSUES – J. CARLINE, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, METRO VANCOUVER Mr. Carline gave a PowerPoint
presentation which addressed the goals of the Regional Growth Strategy and provided an overview of the implementation mechanisms and processes. Mayor Daykin advised that the key issues
for discussion as raised by Maple Ridge Council included: Process for updating population and demographic projections; Clarification of governance options and comments at a Regional
Growth Strategy public session at ECRA suggesting a move to more regional control; Status of green zone; Clarification of rural and urban designations; and
Council Minutes June 16, 2009 Page 2 of 2 Public input opportunities into the Regional Growth Strategy before finalizing. Mr. Carline reviewed and responded to questions and concerns
raised on each issue. He described the dispute resolution process which can be undertaken should any municipalities not agree with the terms of the regional growth strategy plan. 3.
