He outlined the differences in the new legislation. CARRIED 1003 Maple Ridge Council Procedure Amending Bylaw No. 6777 6777-2010 To amend the bylaw by deleting Section 31(b) in its entirety and replacing with: (b) Moment of Reflection; Mayor Daykin spoke to the intention of the amending bylaw. R/2010-530 1003.1 BL No. 6777-2010 Three readings It was moved and seconded That Bylaw No. 6777 6777-2010 be given first, second and third readings. CARRIED Public Works and Development Services 1101 RZ/031/08, 22606, 22612, 22618 119 Avenue; 11876, 11866 226 Street; and 22611 Selkirk Avenue Staff report dated October 25, 2010 recommending that a final one year extension be granted. R/2010-534 RZ/031/08 Final extension It was moved and seconded That pursuant to Maple Ridge Development Procedures Bylaw No. 5879 5879-1999, a final one year extension be granted for rezoning application RZ/031/08 (property located at 226 22606 119 Avenue, 22612 119 Avenue, 22618 119 Avenue, 1187 11876 226 Str Street, 11866 226 Street, 22611 Selkirk Avenue and that eet, the following conditions be addressed prior to consideration of final reading: i. Approval from the Ministry of Transportation; ii. The Manager of Legislative Services advised that correspondence was received from Lisa Colby seeking reassurances concerning future development near the UBC Research Forest. He also attended a book launch event at Willow Manor regarding a book called “Honour” about war veterans in Maple Ridge. He participated in the “Bring Your Grade 9 to Work Day” hosted by the District. Mayor Daykin advised that that the District of Maple Ridge was recognized with a Platinum Award for an Innovative and Inclusive Approach to Communication for the work done on the 224th Street project and also received a gold award for marketing for the Investment Maple Ridge Program. 1500 COUNCILLORS’ REPORTS Councillor Hogarth Councillor Hogarth asked whether information about taxation for transit will be brought forward to Council for further discussion. Mayor Daykin advised that this item will be added to an upcoming Workshop agenda. Councillor Speirs Councillor Speirs attended meetings of the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Parks and Leisure Services Commission, the Maple Ridge Community Heritage Commission and the Alouette River Management Society. He also attended a Regional Foods Systems Strategy hosted by Metro Vancouver. Councillor Dueck Councillor Dueck attended her usual committee meetings. She also attended the unveiling of the Legion Leaf and expressed thanks to Councillor Ashlie for her work on this project. Councillor Morden Councillor Morden attended Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, a Maple Ridge Recycling Society meeting and a Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association Security Safety meeting. He participated in the Diwali Festival held in Pitt Meadows and encouraged all to attend the Remembrance Day ceremony to be held in Spirit Square Council Minutes November 9, 2010 Page 11 of 11 Councillor Ashlie Councillor Ashlie attended the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards and the unveiling of the Legion Leaf. She offered recognition to the Ridge Meadows Educational Foundation Board for the support and work done in fundraising for the art exhibit. Councillor King Councillor King attended an Agricultural Advisory Committee business planning meeting and a meeting of the Maple Ridge Social Planning Advisory Committee.
