CARRIED Public Works and Development Services 1101 2011 2011-099 099-RZ, 12122 and 12130 203 Street, RS RS-1 to R R-1 and R R-2 Staff report dated January 9, 2012 recommending that Maple Ridge Zone Amending Bylaw No. 6889-2011 to amend text in Bylaw No. 3510-1985 be given first reading and that Maple Ridge Zone Amending Bylaw No. 6884-2011 to allow for future subdivision into five R-2 lots and eleven R-1 lots be given first reading and that the applicant provide further information as described on Schedules A, B and E of the Development Procedures Bylaw No. 5879-1999. R/2012-009 2011-099-RZ BL No. 6889-2011 It was moved and seconded BL No. 6883-2011 First reading In respect of Section 879 of the Local Government Act, requirement for consultation during the development or amendment of an Official Community Plan, Council must consider whether consultation is requ required with specifically: ired i. The Board of the Regional District in which the area covered by the plan is located, in the case of a Municipal Official Community Plan; ii. The Board of any Regional District that is adjacent to the area covered by the plan; iii. School District Boards, greater boards and improvements district boards; and vi. CARRIED Council Minutes January 10, 2012 Page 8 of 10 Financial and Corporate Services (including Fire and Police) 1131 Adjustments to the 2010 Collector’s Roll Staff report dated January 9, 2012 submitting information on changes to the 2010 Collector’s Roll through the issuance of Supplementary Rolls 17 and 18. 1132 2012 2012-2016 Fi Financial Plan Bylaw nancial Staff report dated January 10, 2012 recommending that Statement 1 of Maple Ridge 2012-2016 Financial Plan Bylaw No. 6883-2011 be amended and that the bylaw as amended be adopted. R/2012-015 BL No. 6883-2011 Amendment It was moved and seconded Final reading That Bylaw No. 6883 6883-2011 be amended by replacing “Statement 1” with the revised “Statement 1” as attached to the staff report dated January 10, 2012 and that Bylaw No. 6883 6883-2011 as amended be adopted. CARRIED Community Development and Recreation Service – Nil Correspondence – Nil Other Committee Issues – Nil 1200 STAFF REPORTS 1201 Blue Mountain – Quarry Application Staff report dated January 10, 2012 recommending that the application of a Land Act Lease for quarrying for sand and gravel purposes on Blue Mountain not be supported and that a letter be sent to the Province requesting the additional information identified in the report. Council Minutes January 10, 2012 Page 9 of 10 R/2012-016 Blue Mountain Quarry Application It was moved and seconded That Council not support the application as submitted; and That a letter be forwarded to the Ministry of Natural Resources Operations which would include the resolution(s) passed by Council and a request for additional information identified in the staff report dated January 10, 2012, titled Blue Mountain – Quarry Application. CARRIED 1300 RELEASE OF ITEMS FROM CLOSED COUNCIL – Nil 1400 MAYOR’S REPORT Mayor Daykin welcomed all of Council back and spoke to the recent Business Planning discussions and the upcoming work for the first six months of the term. 1500 COUNCILLORS’ REPORTS Councillor Morden Councillor Morden attended a meeting pertaining to the Fraser River hosted by Randy Kamp, MLA, the CP Holiday Train event and the grand opening of a new restaurant in Maple Ridge. He volunteered at the Haven on Christmas Eve. Councillor Hogarth Councillor Hogarth reported that regular committee meetings will commence in the upcoming weeks. He volunteered at the Salvation Army Christmas Dinner and Operation Red Nose. He thanked those residents and businesses whose volunteer work contributed to the success of Operation Red Nose. Councillor Bell Councillor Bell advised that her committee work will be commencing within the next week. She attended a tour of the local library and volunteered at the Christmas Haven. She advised that the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society will be having a fundraiser. Council Minutes January 10, 2012 Page 10 of 10 Councillor Ashlie Councillor Ashlie wished all a Happy New Year. She advised that she has participated in numerous events and that her committee work will also begin in the next week. She also advised that January 27 is Family Literacy Day and encouraged the community to go to www.communityliteracy.ca to view events focused on literacy. Councillor Dueck Councillor Dueck wished all a Happy New Year and thanked all those who volunteered for the Salvation Army. She attended a meeting of the Arts Council and advised that her committee meeting will begin in the upcoming weeks. Councillor Masse Councillor Masse advised that his committee work will be starting during the upcoming weeks. 1600 OTHER MATTERS DEEMED EXPEDIENT BC Assessment Information Mayor Daykin provided information on the property tax assessments system.
