Council Minutes February 28, 2012 Page 9 of 10 1400 MAYOR’S REPORT Mayor Daykin commented on the naming of the park on 222 Street and Church Avenue which acknowledges and celebrates
the role of the Japanese farming community in Maple Ridge. He attended the 2011-2012 First Aid Competition for Air Cadets, a Jim Dyers session on community building and Yennadon Elementary
School to read to a Grade One class. 1500 COUNCILLORS’ REPORTS Councillor Morden Councillor Morden attended a meeting providing an update on the BC Jobs Pilot Project and a meeting
of the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Bicycle Advisory Committee. He also attended both Jim Dyers sessions on community building and the Maple Ridge Community Heritage Commission Heritage
Awards event. Councillor Bell Councillor Bell will be going to Abbotsford to meet with the Fraser Valley Regional Library Committee. She advised that the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society
is promoting their 40th year anniversary. She attended the Jim Dyers session on community building, a Ridge Meadows Cultural Society Gala Event and a seminar for newly elected officials.
Councillor Masse Councillor Masse attended the South Asian Cultural Society Gala, the Jim Dyers session on community building and a seminar for newly elected officials. Councillor Dueck
Councillor Dueck thanked Mayor Daykin for the Moment of Reflection and encouraged all to wear pink in support of anti-bullying. She advised that the Ridge Meadows Youth Diversion Program
Annual General Meeting will be held on March 7 and encouraged all of Council to attend. She wished to recognize staff organizing an Emergency Operations Center exercise for the large
