He outlined the Commission’s priorities, reported on activities of 2011 and advised on the 2012 work plan for the group. The Board of the Regional District in which the area covered by the plan is located, in the case of a Municipal Official Community Plan; ii. The Board of any Regional District that is adjacent to the area covered by the plan; iii. The Council of any municipality that is adjacent to the area covered by the plan; iv. First Nations; v. School District Boards, greater boards and improvements district boards boards; and ; vi. CARRIED Community Development and Recreation Service 1151 Award of Contract, Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment Roof Replacement Staff report dated April 16, 2012 recommending that the contract for the Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment Roof Replacement be awarded to Flynn Canada Roofing and that a 15% contingency be established for this project. R/2012-185 Award of Contract Flynn Canada It was moved and seconded Roofing That the Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment Roof Replacement Project be awarded to Flynn Canada Roofing in the amount of $210,875.00; and further That a 15% contingency of $31,631.00 be established for this project funded from the Facilities Lifecycle budget. CARRIED Correspondence – Nil Other Committee Issues – Nil 1200 STAFF REPORTS – Nil 1300 RELEASE OF ITEMS FROM CLOSED COUNCIL – Nil Council Minutes April 24, 2012 Page 11 of 12 1400 MAYOR’S REPORT Mayor Daykin expressed appreciation for local Maple Ridge businesses which give back to the community. He thanked all the organizations contributing to National Volunteer Week. Mayor Daykin attended the Sunshine Dreams for Kids Softball Game, an Employers Luncheon hosted by the Ministry of Children and Families and a Fraser Health Healthy Communities trade show. He reminded residents of the “Goodbye Chums” event on April 29 at Kanaka Creek. 1500 COUNCILLORS’ REPORTS Councillor Bell Councillor Bell attended the 40th anniversary of the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society held at Earth Day, a fundraiser for the CEED Centre, a production put on by the Emerald Pig Theatrical Society and the Circle of Cranes book launch event. Councillo Councillor Hogarth r Councillor Hogarth advised of the opening of the new Hannah House facility. He attended the 40th anniversary of the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society at Earth Day. He encouraged residents to attend the Maple Ridge Home Show on May 4th, 5th and 6th. He congratulated Candace Gordon for receiving the Citizen of the Year Award. Councillor Morden Councillor Morden attended the opening of the new Hannah House facility, the Maple Ridge Community Foundation Annual Dinner and the Rotary Wine Zest. He also attended a presentation by B.C. Ombudsperson Kim Carter held at the Ridge Meadows Seniors Centre. Councillor Ashlie Councillor Ashlie attended a presentation by B.C. Ombudsperson Kim Carter held at the Ridge Meadows Senior Centre, a meeting of Fraser Health Authority and the Circle of Cranes book launch event. Councillor Dueck Councillor Dueck attended Earth Day in Memorial Peace Park and the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society’s celebration of their 40th year anniversary. She also attended meetings of the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Parks and Leisure Services Commission and the opening of the new Hannah House facility. Council Minutes April 24, 2012 Page 12 of 12 Councillor Masse Councillor Masse attended the 20th Annual Heritage Tea event and the Circle of Cranes book launch event. He also met with Grade 5 to 7 students at Yennadon Elementary School. Mayor Daykin advised on a new tourism initiative proposing to provide boat service from the Pitt Meadows Airport Float Plane Terminal to Pitt Lake.
