Dave Fleugel, Ridge-Meadows RCMP Detachment • Sergeant Casey Baker, Ridge-Meadows RCMP Detachment Superintendent Fleugel introduced Sergeant Baker as the officer who is dealing directly
with the Cliff Avenue camp.
Council Minutes July 28, 2015 Page 3 of 17 Sergeant Baker outlined what is currently being done by the RCMP at the camp, advising on an increase in patrols in the downtown area and on
how residents can help the RCMP to identify items which may have been stolen. He emphasized that the issue is very significant and of great importance to the RCMP. 600 DELEGATIONS 601
Chamber of Commerce Servicing Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Update • Terry Becker, President • Andrea Madden, Executive Director Ms. Becker and Ms. Madden gave a PowerPoint presentation
providing information on the Chamber of Commerce, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows. The presentation outlined the organization’s vision and mission statements, policies and upcoming events.
602 Ridge Meadows Youth Diversion Program Update • Gurinder Mann, Interim Executive Director Mr. Mann provided an update on the Ridge Meadows Youth Diversion Program and spoke to its
positive influence on youth at risk. He asked for the continued support of the City of Maple Ridge. Note: Item 1402 was dealt with following Item 602. Note: Councillor Shymkiw excused

Avenue Road Improvements (225 Street – 226 Street) be awarded to AC Paving Co. Ltd., that the Financial Plan be amended to increase the project budget and that the Corporate Officer
be authorized to execute the contract. The General Manager of Public Works and Development provided clarification on the road improvements. R/2015-331 It was moved and seconded That
Contract ITT ITT-EN15 EN15-49, Selkirk Avenue Road Improvements Project (225 Street -226 Street), be awarded to AC Paving Company Ltd.in the amount of $678,891.00 excluding taxes; and
That a contract contingency of 10% or $67,889 be approved; and That the Financial Plan be amended to increase the projec project budget by t $90,000 as detailed in the Council Report
dated July 20, 2015 titled the Award of Contract ITT ITT-EN EN-15 15-49: Selkirk Avenue Road Improvements (225 Street –226 Street); and further That the Corporate Officer be authorized

2015 recommending that the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Agricultural Association Lease and License Agreement be renewed for a period of five years with three additional renewal options
of five years each and that the license period to operate the annual Agricultural Fair be extended from three weeks to four weeks per year and that the Corporate Officer be authorized
to execute the lease and license agreement. 1152 Agricultural Association – Operating Agreement Staff report dated July 20, 2015 recommending that the Festival Fund grant awarded to

Poma Dhaliwal, President of the Alliance of Beverage Licensees and Owner/Operator of Jolly Miller Pub and Liquor Store, Chilliwack, expressing concern with the Provincial Government’s
decision to allow wine on grocery shelves and requesting that Maple Ridge implement a one kilometer distance rule for all future beverage alcohol retailers in Maple Ridge. 1401.1 R/2015-337

Meadows Youth Diversion Program Letter dated June 30, 2015 from Bart R. Findlay, President, Ridge Meadows Youth Justice and Advocacy Association requesting approval of three years of
funding at the level previously committed to by the City of Maple Ridge. R/2015-339 It was moved and seconded That the request of Ridge Meadows Youth & Justice Advocacy Association
for a 3 3-year commitment of funding be supported provided Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services enters into an agreement with the City of Maple Ridge to provide youth diversion

Talson asked whether reports will be received on a regular basis and what is expected to happen to individuals in the camp who are involved in criminal activity and/or do not wish to
have housing. Mayor Read advised on the reporting process, referred to information previously shared with the public and outlined what will be done in terms of individuals who do not
