We are a film-friendly community where residents have embraced the industry, welcoming filming into their neighbourhoods and homes. Permit Application Process Step 1: Read the City’s Filming Guidelines (available at mapleridge.ca/filming) Step 2: Contact Marg Johnson, Film Production Liaison, at 604.467.7488 or mjohnson@mapleridge.ca Step 3: Determine the best location for filming Step 4: Complete a Film Permit Application and all applicable permits Step 5: Once your application is approved, start filming! One-stop service Maple Ridge provides a friendly one-stop service for the film industry. In addition to processing all necessary applications and permits for filming, the City of Maple Ridge Film Production Liaison can help you find that perfect location for your production. Filming guidelines We provide the film industry with reasonable access and use of the many features that Maple Ridge has to offer. We ensure our requirements are easy to follow by providing clear guidelines and application forms, and a Film Production Liaison on staff to assist in these processes. Film, commercial and television production is a growing industry and provides tremendous financial benefits. Businesses and home owners in Maple Ridge can share in the revenues generated by filming in our community while helping to provide employment opportunities in the region. Many film companies are interested in filming on location in businesses, homes and neighbourhoods in Maple Ridge. Property owners can typically earn between $500 to $1,500 per day, depending on the needs and complexity of the production. Register your property Registering your property as a filming location is simple. • First, create a digital "photo file" of your property, and submit it to Creative BC at creativebc.com, which promotes each registered property to the film industry, while protecting your right to privacy. • Second, if you wish to have your business or residence included in our database, please contact Marg Johnson, Film Production Liaison at 604.467.7488 or by email at mjohnson@mapleridge.ca. The City of Maple Ridge Film Production Liaison keeps a database of properties on file. Filming and your property If your residential or commercial property is selected by a company for filming, a location manager will contact you to arrange the details of the filming. To confirm the validity of the location manager or production company, call Creative BC at 604.730.2732. The City of Maple Ridge Film Production Liaison works with each location manager to ensure public concerns are addressed and resolved and helps guide you through the process, ensuring that your needs are met throughout filming production.
