January 5, 2015 Mayor’s Homelessness Solutions Task Force Council reviewed a report presented by Kelly Swift, General Manager: Community Development, Parks & Recreation Services that outlines the recommendation that the Mayor’s Homelessness Solutions Task Force be established to conduct an assessment of social service delivery funding models and to develop recommendations that will enhance community health for Council’s con- sideration. Mayor Read noted that this is the first step in a process that will see appointments made from community experts. These appointments and the development of terms of reference to allow the Task Force to deal with a number of emerging issues ensure that both the issues of homeless- ness and an increased sense of safety in the community are dealt with. The recommendation stated that Mayor Read, Councillor Masse and Councillor Robson be ap- pointed as the Council liaisons to the Task Force. Council passed the recommendation.
