INFORMED: Back to School School Zone Speed Enforcement Continues School went back into session after Labour Day and the RCMP and Speed Watch volunteers have been very active doing education and enforcement throughout the City. In the last week we received the rst rainfall after many months of dry weather and that adds to the safety issues on our roads. We all need to obey school speed zones and be extra vigilant at crosswalks and corners. In addition, we remind citizens in rural areas to respect school bus operations at all times. Do not pass school buses that are loading and unloading students. This is a great time to talk to your children and remind them to be attentive when walking to and from school. As parents, we have a constant battle with kids to get them to wear a jacket, but on rainy days and when the days get shorter, bright re ective clothing helps drivers see our children as they walk to school. RCMP will continue with enforcement throughout the community to ensure that drivers get the message that school speed zones are in effect. Thank you to those citizens who are following the speed zones and school bus rules every day!
