Albion Community Centre Concept Plan Kelly Swift, General Manager: Community Development, Parks & Recreation Services introduced Paul Fast, HCMA Architecture and Design who presented the findings from the community open houses regarding the draft concept plan for the proposed Albion Community Centre. Parks, Recreation and Culture Infrastructure Update Kelly Swift, General Manager: Community Development, Parks & Recreation Services provided Council with a summary of the work and discussions had regarding parks, recreation and cultural amenities. Albion Flats Area Plan—Land Use Planning Workshop Jim Charlebois, Manager of Community Planning provided Council with an update on the Albion Flats Area Plan —Land Use Planning Workshop which included:  A review of the process to date  Work completed to date  Review of Four Concept Ideas: 1. Agriculture 2. Commercial 3. Employment 4. Recreational Mr. Charlebois also reviewed the next steps in the process with Council. Council provided their feedback on each of the ideas presented. Child Care Major Capital Funding Wendy McCormick, Director of Recreation advised Council that the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) is currently receiving applications for Child Care Programs to a maximum of $500,000 for the creation of licensed child care spaces. Ms. McCormick noted that the application would be for a child care facility to be located at the new Albion Community Centre. Council passed a motion for staff to prepare an application for Child Care Major Capital Funding to be submitted to the MCFD with a request for maximum funding of $500,000 to fund a multi-age childcare centre to be located in the design of the Albion Community Centre. Council Priorities Laura Benson, Manager Sustainability & Corporate Planning reviewed the Council Priorities—Approach report with Council. Council passed a motion for the approach, as outlined in the report, to be implemented.
