Kelly Swift, General Manager: Community Development, Parks & Recreation Services
introduced Paul Fast and Darrell Condon from HCMA Architecture and Design.
Paul Fast gave a presentation that provided an overview of the conceptual plan for new
civic facilities located at Memorial Peace Park.
Council passed a resolution that directed staff to prepare a report that provides funding
options and design details for the four other identified civic facility bundles.
Council also directed staff to identify the funding and public engagement process for the
conceptual plans for the civic facilities that were identified in the presentation made by
Paul Fast.
Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing
Program

Housing Program and identified a need for additional seniors housing in Maple Ridge.
Ms. Matthewson noted that the Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing Program
could assist with meeting this need in Maple Ridge.
Council passed a resolution that directed staff to explore potential locations for the
Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing Program .
Council also passed a resolution that details of the Provincial Investment in Affordable
Housing Program be made public to the community.
BC Housing - Permanent Purpose Built Shelter
Shawn Matthewson, Social Planning Analyst reviewed the BC Housing - Permanent
Purpose Built Shelter report with Council.
Council passed a resolution that directs staff to work with BC Housing to develop a
detailed process regarding the construction of a permanent purpose built shelter and
housing facility in Maple Ridge.
Mayor’s Open Government Task Force
Recommendations
Christina Crabtree, Director of Information Technology made a presentation to Council
that provided details on the outcomes of the Citizens’ Representatives Working Group
(CRWG) including recommendations on how to address the 58 recommendations
identified by the CRWG.
Council passed a resolution that directed staff to develop a work schedule and cost
estimates for the 58 recommendations established by the CRWG. Now that the CRWG
has concluded their work, Mayor and Council expressed their appreciation for their
work.
