reviewed the High Impact Stakeholder Consultation Summary - Temporary Shelter report
with Council. This report included a summary of the feedback received at the High
Impact Stakeholders meeting that was held on Thursday, June 16, 2016.
Council received the report for information and passed a resolution to extend the lease
of the temporary shelter located at 22339 Lougheed Highway and that the lease be
assigned to BC Housing on the condition that BC Housing receive permission from the
City of Maple Ridge for any further extensions.
Council also directed staff to provide a report on how the impacts and
recommendations included in the High Impact Stakeholder Consultation Summary -
Temporary Shelter report will be addressed.

Council directed staff to work with BC Housing to select a site for an interim modular
shelter using BC Housing’s site selection criteria of size, servicing and location, and Policy
4-33 in the Official Community Plan and that the process identified in the Interim Modular
Shelter Land Use Criteria and Process report be endorsed.
2016 Business Class Property Taxation
Dan Olivieri, Administrative Assistant reviewed the 2016 Business Class Property
Taxation report with Council. Council received the report for information.
2016 Major Industry Class Property Taxation
Dan Olivieri, Administrative Assistant reviewed the 2016 Major Industry Class Property
Taxation report with Council. Council received the report for information.
2017-2021 Business & Financial Planning Guidelines
Laura Benson, Manager of Sustainability & Corporate Planning reviewed the 2017-2021
Business & Financial Planning Guidelines report with Council and outlined the public
consultation plan, the business planning timelines and the proposed Council Workplan
schedule.
Council approved the 2017-2021 Business Planning timelines, endorsed the Business &
Financial Planning Guidelines, directed staff to hold a public Question & Answer session
in July and gather public input through a Public Feedback Initiative.
Council also approved the Council Workplan Matrix as outlined in the report.
Participation on Federation of Canadian
Municipalities Committees by Councillor Speirs
Councillor Speirs indicated that he would like to continue to participate on the Federation
of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) committees. Council approved Councillor Speirs
participation on the committees of the FCM.
