Kelly Swift, General Manager: Parks, Recreation & Culture introduced this item and
Jennifer Wilson, Jennifer Wilson Consultant.
Ms. Wilson made a presentation to Council that provided a status update on the
community data from the consultation process. She offered methods in which to inform the
community, outlined the purpose and design of the survey and highlighted feedback
received from the random survey.
School Site Synthetic Field Follow Up
Kelly Swift, General Manager: Parks, Recreation & Culture introduced this item and Valoree
Richmond, Manager of Parks Planning & Operations.
Ms. Richmond made a presentation to Council that included a review of sites previously
considered, school sites supported by School District No. 42, feedback received from sport
user groups and next steps in the process.
Council passed a resolution to reallocate $3,000,000 for the Albion Sports Complex
redevelopment to Arthur Peake Centre/Golden Ears Elementary and directed staff to work
with School District No. 42 to prepare the development and operating agreements needed
to proceed.

Council directed staff to conduct a community consultation process for both Arthur Peake
Centre/Golden Ears Elementary and Telosky Stadium/Thomas Haney Secondary concepts.
Council also directed staff to prepare a report for Council to consider including an outdoor
pool option as outlined by the Haney Neptune's Swim Club.

Council awarded the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre First Floor - Pool Change Rooms & Lobby
Renovations - Contract to Shape Architecture Inc.
BC Energy Step Code
Laura Benson, Manager of Sustainability & Corporate Planning introduced this item and
spoke to the unique aspects of it.
Maya Chorobik, Research Technician provided more detailed information as related to the
topic as follows: background and alignment of the Step Code program with industry
stakeholders coupled with an overview of collaboration models, available policy tools and
examples of existing implementation models.
2017 Residential Class Property Taxation
Paul Gill: General Manager, Corporate & Financial Services reviewed the 2017 Residential
Class Property Taxation report with Council. Council received the report for information.
Bylaw to Regulate Support Recovery Homes and Other
Similar Care Facilities
Christine Carter, Director of Planning introduced this item to Council and Brent Elliot,
Manager of Community Planning and Siobhan Murphy, Planner. Mr. Elliot and Ms. Murphy
reviewed the staff report with Council.
Council passed a resolution to give first and second reading to the Maple Ridge Zoning
Amending Bylaw to regulate care facilities in the City of Maple Ridge including unregulated,
unlicensed or unregistered supportive recovery homes and other facilities.
