4.1 Agri-Food Hub: Maple Ridge Food Hub Implementation Plan
Staff report dated November 27, 2018 recommending that the Agricultural
Advisory Committee explore options to build community capacity for a food
hub in Maple Ridge.

following information:

The Director Parks & Facilities gave a PowerPoint presentation providing the
following information:

4.3 Social Media and Communications
Staff report dated November 27, 2018 providing information on the City’s
social media policy and practices around managing digital interactions.
The General Manager Parks, Culture and Recreation introduced the topic.
The Manager of Community Engagement & Relations gave a PowerPoint
presentation providing information on the City’s social media policy and the
general principles of that policy.

The General Manager Parks, Culture and Recreation advised on the process
followed in responding to e-mails to Council.
4.4 TransLink Major Road Network Expansion
Staff report dated November 27, 2018 providing information on the
expansion of the major road network within Maple Ridge.
The General Manager Public Works and Development introduced the topic.
The Municipal Engineer gave a PowerPoint Presentation providing the
following:
• Explanation of the Major Road Network (MRN) and its purpose
• Information on the expansion of MRN and a map outlining the overall
network throughout the region as well as the proposed improvements
in Maple Ridge
4.5 Grant-in-Lieu of Property Tax Payment
The Chief Financial Officer advised on the grant-in-lieu of the property tax
payment from the Province.
4.6 Maple Ridge Ale Trail Initiative
Staff report dated November 27, 2018 providing information on the City of
Maple Ridge’s participation in the Ale Trail Program.
The Tourism Coordinator gave a PowerPoint presentation providing the
following information:
• Background on the ale trail initiative
• Benefits to the economy resulting from the beer industry
• Local benefits which will result from participation in the Ale Trail
Program
• Sample Visitor Itinerary
• Opportunities for Maple Ridge
• Video showcasing the Ale Trail Initiative in Port Moody

5.1 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) – Notification of Executive
Vacancies
Correspondence dated November 19, 2018 from UBCM Executive notifying
members of Executive vacancies and outlining the process to be followed for
filling vacancies.

That Councillor Yousef’s application for Director at Large for UBCM be
supported.

5.2 Ministry of Citizen’s Services – 2018 Grant-in-Lieu of Property Tax Payment
Correspondence dated November 8, 2018 from Jinny Jogindera Sims,
Minister, Ministry of Citizens’ Services advising the City of Maple Ridge on the
issuance of the 2018 grant-in-lieu of property tax payment

That correspondence dated November 8, 2018 from Jinny Jogindera Sims,
Minister, Ministry of Citizens’ Services on the issuance of the 2018 grant-in-
lieu of property tax payment be received into the record and that no further
action be taken.
